Who are you? Who are you, really?

We are born into this life a warrior, a follower, a leader, a dreamer...whatever our talent, calling, essence, we are born as such. And whether we retain that knowledge and awareness of our true being once we set out and traverse the world around us, educated on societal norms and saturated with the expectations of those who've surrendered their beginnings, conforming blindly and believing without question, varies for each person.
Some lose their intrinsic being somewhere along life's journey; many fight it so as not to be judged or ostracized. Too many lose it forever, unknowing of the essential life meant for them; the blessed are guided back with a spark of recognition, through haunting emptiness, or the penetrating glance from a familiar stranger...something makes them stop, feel, think, connect and redirect.
Others never lose touch, having been gifted with earthly angels who teach them to listen and trust their true self, each step on life's path synchronized with each inhale. Sadly, many lie on their deathbeds with regret for never taking a chance, never risking it all for an unknown something that had to be better than the life they were living and were quickly leaving...unlived.
We shield ourselves from our true self when we come to understand it lies outside of what is normal and expected, what is marketed to us as safe, beautiful, right. We resist because we've been corrected on what is an acceptable career path, partner, representation of family, gender, son, daughter. We're directed to the path of least resistance, the path that chastises free-thinking and individuality - a path created by oppressors, bypassing fairness and kindness, and fueled by greed, power, profit...even hate.
Challenge what you've been told, trained and educated to believe is right for you...and we ask you, we beg you...listen to, feel, think about and question EVERYTHING; be open to learning, empathizing, exploring, sacrificing. Discover and understand your thoughts, beliefs, desires, fears...and reconnect to who you really are. Teacher, traveler, writer, fighter, lover, seeker, savior, survivor, avenger, cultivator, peacekeeper, advocate... Who are you? Who are you, really?
